MentorKids KY exits to love children from single parent/non-traditional households living in Daviess County. We are able to do this by providing the child with an adult Christian Mentor to help them persevere through the trials of life by building their character and offering them hope for their future.
Health Access Nurturing Development Services (H.A.N.D.S.) is a voluntary program for all parents residing in Kentucky. Services can begin during pregnancy or anytime before a child is 3 months old. H.A.N.D.S. is an educational service that promotes healthy pregnancies, births, healthy child growth and development, healthy and safe homes, and self-sufficient families.
The H.A.N.D.S. program is free to all moms and/or dads, regardless of their age or income. The staff of H.A.N.D.S. believe that a child’s parents are the most important people in that child’s life. A parent is the first and most important teacher a child will ever have.
H.A.N.D.S. offers information and support to parents as they build a healthy, safe and stimulating environment in which their baby can grow and develop.
The First Steps Program provides services to children ages birth to 3 years old with developmental delays or an established risk diagnosis who are in need of early intervention within the Green River District Area.
Building Stronger Families (BSF) is a home visitation program for families with children. The program is voluntary and the services are free. Building Stronger Families believes all parents want to be the best parent they can be.
The program educates parents on positive parenting skills through the Active Parenting curriculum. Home visitors assist families in setting goals and achieving them. In addition, home visitors link families to available community services.
